Meet Our Growing Equity Urban Farmers

We express deep gratitude to our urban farmer participants for their time and willingness to share the stories and values of their work. We’re in awe of their achievements and contributions to community food sovereignty and health equity in San Diego County.

Huge thank you to Dr. Amy Lerner, Associate Teaching Professor in Urban Studies and Planning at UC San Diego, for her collaboration and partnership. Students in Dr. Lerner’s Spring 2025 Sustainable Food Systems course interviewed farmers and produced these short films. They are not film students; they are students passionate about seeing change in our food system. We thank them for their tremendous effort and eagerness to learn directly from farmers throughout our region.

Last but never least, we thank our program coordinator, Rain Lins, for coordinating the student/farmer engagement that made this project possible and providing the final editing touches on each film.

Please check back here soon for more videos! We’ll add as we complete them.
