About

The Methods program aims to create a model for academic groups to support local leaders and organizations conducting applied research projects on health and nutrition. The team will develop methods to assess outcomes, publish findings, and share resources. Finally, the team will develop a “playbook” on how academic groups could get started with the approach in other regions. Our goal is to create a model for academics to support community research that goes beyond improving food systems, thus has broad applicability. The team will produce materials (e.g., blogs, white papers, policy briefs, publications) tailored for a range of stakeholders, to work to share and scale our approach.

Our ability to deliver support to CBO leaders and Community Council/Next of KIN members will be evaluated through annual mixed methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups). These surveys will be distributed to all relevant stakeholders, asking them about their experiences working with the Methods Program. Our strategy will be to use the prior year’s results as a benchmark to surpass the following year. At the start of each year, we will also implement a series of workshops with local partners and researchers to identify what is and is not working with the methods program. Results will be used to update the program, which will then be tested at the end of the year, iteratively.
