Jackie Resnick (she/her) is the Senior Program Manager for the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative. She has 10+ years of experience developing and managing programs in non-profit, academic, and global settings. Her work has focused on addressing health issues that disproportionately affect women, adolescents, children, and other underserved populations.

During college, and after graduating from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Biology, Jackie worked for the Mission Valley YMCA running a before-and-after school program, as well as, lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons. Shortly after graduating from SDSU, she joined the Peace Corps and worked with schools in Kenya and Botswana to develop HIV prevention and peer education programs. During this time Jackie realized the importance of working hand-in-hand with the community and the impact that public health initiatives could have at a population level.

After earning her Master of Public Health with an emphasis in global maternal and child health from the University of Arizona, Jackie worked as the Director of Data and Evaluation at a rural hospital in the Achham district of Nepal. Her main focus was to improve data collection and tracking practices in order to measure impact and scale programs. She also provided technical support for research projects and grant implementation. Additionally, Jackie has experience using the collective impact framework to tackle the complex issue of teen pregnancy. By partnering with Planned Parenthood Arizona, local school districts, and community-based organizations, Jackie was able to direct a large-scale federal grant to implement evidence-based sexual and reproductive health education in schools with the aim of reducing teen pregnancy in the county.

Most recently Jackie worked for UCLA to provide expertise in strategic planning, technical assistance, and evaluation techniques to the homeless outreach teams at the LA County Department of Mental Health. This included developing and evaluating a pilot program, creating outcome measurement tools, facilitating and analyzing qualitative key informant interviews, and developing relevant trainings.

Jackie joined the Center for Community Health in 2023.
