Facilitated by the City of Chula Vista and UC San Diego Center for Community Health, the Advancing Health Literacy (AHL) program has now released their Request for Application (RFA) which will distribute about $2 million worth of funds to successful applicants.

The AHL program seeks to address COVID-19 health disparities experienced by underserved communities throughout San Diego County. The program will fund projects that are focused on objectives related to improved understanding and communication, increased informed decision-making, and the use of culturally and linguistically appropriate health literacy strategies that address systemic inequities. For more information about the grant application process and the AHL program, you can find the RFA on their website aquí.

The AHL program works  to engage and support community organizations that are interested in getting involved. AHL is hosting capacity-building seminars to support grant applicants in their program development and proposal writing processes. Applicants were also invited to attend conferences to learn more about the RFA requirements and address clarifying questions. All of these resources, including meeting recordings and presentations, are available on the AHL website and can be found aquí for those who are unable to attend..

For any further questions or concerns about the RFA, feel free to reach out to AHL Program Directors, Sarah Vicente ([email protected]) and Reem Zubaidi ([email protected]).
