Congratulations to Dr. Wooten!

Our COI Leadership Council Tri-Chair and San Diego County’s Public Health Officer, Dr. Wilma Wooten, was recently chosen for two awards. Dr. Wooten was named San Diegan of the Year by the San Diego Union Tribune. She was also selected as the recipient of the YMCA’s 2021 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Human Dignity Award. Dr. Wooten was honored for her bravery and resilience during this past turbulent and unprecedented year. She consistently set best practices related to COVID-19 response to prioritize all San Diegans’ health. We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Wooten’s leadership and guidance in the Childhood Obesity Initiative!
