Monze Farmer’s Market, one of the participating markets in the Live Well Community Market Program, hosted an event Saturday, June 24th. Customers were offered free samples of fresh fruit consisting of pineapples, mangos, and apples. A variety of fresh homemade salsas with chips were also provided, accompanied by healthy recipe cards.
In addition to the food sampling, customers were encouraged to complete an active transportation survey assessing walkability when traveling to the market. Customers who completed the survey were given a free reusable grocery bag. With each reusable bag given out, customers were also given a reward stamp card to encourage bag reuse. On the sixth stamp, customers will receive a free prize.
