In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., I had the opportunity to attend a breakfast with nearly 1,400 other people. Many people spoke and delivered powerful, eloquent speeches. It was beautiful to see the diversity within the room, people of different ethnicities, religions, and character. I believe that Martin Luther King Jr., would have been proud to see this unity. He devoted his life fighting for a country where everyone could be equal. Although racism is still occurring, we are progressing and this assembly was held to serve as a reminder – a reminder to continue striving for change. “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” -MLK
