Dr. Philip Nader was the founder of the UC San Diego Center for Community Health as well as a trusted and valued advisor for the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative (COI) from its inception in 2006. In 2016, the Philip R. Nader Legacy of Health Lectureship was established at the School of Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. The purpose of the annual lectureship is to promote and inspire academicians, providers, public health students and community residents in the fields of primary prevention and community pediatrics.
