Working toward health equity for underserved communities in San Diego

Our goal is to implement culturally appropriate, evidence-based health literacy strategies to address the effects of COVID-19 on Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander and refugee communities in San Diego. Our process is driven by community partners in our AHL coalition and representatives from city governments across San Diego County.

Project Priorities

  • Increasing availability, accessibility and use of COVID-19 public health information and services.
  • Improving collaboration across stakeholders, including greater community engagement to inform and deliver solutions.
  • Increasing capacity of ethnic and community-based organizations and health centers to provide evidence-based health literacy strategies.
