We are delighted to celebrate Amina Sheik Mohamed’s prestigious recognition by the Prebys Foundation as one of five recipients for their Leaders in Belonging Initiative and Award. As director of our Refugee Health Unit, Amina has been instrumental in advancing health equity among refugee and immigrant communities in San Diego. Her innovative work in establishing the Refugee Health Unit and cofounding the San Diego Refugee Communities Coalition has been central to fostering community-led health solutions. This honor is a testament to her commitment to improving health outcomes and reinforcing a sense of belonging among diverse communities. We also extend our congratulations to our long-time partner Diane Moss of Project New Village for her remarkable contributions building food sovereignty in Southeastern San Diego.
