Our San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative (SD COI) team and the UCSD Healthy Campus Network, in partnership with Leah’s Pantry, are hosting mindful nourishment and cooking workshops in support of the mindfulness programming organized by the UCSD Center for Mindfulness, the Sanford Institute for Empathy and Compassion, and the Compassion Institute. We understand that COVID-19 has created stress in the body, mind, and spirit and we are actively supporting opportunities to nourish our community in holistic and positive ways. Our partner, Leah’s Pantry, is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs to increase nutritional security and reform the food system for low-income communities. Leah’s Pantry uses a trauma-informed framework, which centers the resilience of low-income communities and creates healing food experiences.

Please join us for these upcoming free workshops on Mindful Nourishment and Mindful Cooking. The schedule and registration link can be found here: https://bit.ly/UCSDMindfulCompassion.

The Childhood Obesity Initiative is a program of Live Well San Diego: Healthy Works and  implemented by UCSD Center for Community Health.
