Breastfeeding Friendly San Diego Partner Highlight
An experienced childcare provider, Keisha King started King, Keisha In Home Child Care in July of 2017. Over the past ten years, Ms. King has worked at Head Start as a Home Visitor and teacher, and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Development at Point Loma Nazarene University. Ms. King also spends her time interning with Rescue Mission San Diego where she provides support to families who are in transition from being homeless. Ms. King wanted to become a Breastfeeding Friendly San Diego partner because she strongly believes that breastfeeding is an important bonding moment between mom and baby, and she wants to be supportive and encouraging towards families who choose to breastfeed. Ms. King wants other providers to know that the BFSD program is definitely something to look into and that it provides great training and information. The information and resources that BFSD provided have been very helpful for Ms. King, and she appreciated the tangible incentives for parents to breastfeed on-site.
