Select It

Look for kiwifruit that feel slightly firm. Size does not affect taste. Avoid buying kiwi that are very soft, cracked or wrinkled.

Store It

  • Unripe kiwi can be ripened faster by placing in a paper bag on the counter.
  • Ripe kiwi can be stored on the counter for up to 2 weeks.
  • Store ripe kiwi in the refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.

Reduce Food Waste

The fuzzy skin on the kiwi can be eaten too!

Prepare It

  • Eat whole, sliced or cut in half. Scoop out the fruit and enjoy.  You can eat the thin skin of kiwi, it’s full of fiber!
  • Slice or dice kiwi and add to your favorite smoothies. Mix kiwis, bananas and your favorite fruits in a blender with frozen fruit and yogurt, milk or preferred milk substitute (soy, oat, almond, coconut, etc). Add a twist … toss in a few baby spinach leaves for an extra green appearance.
  • Make a tropical salsa by combining kiwi with mango, peppers, honey, lime juice and cilantro. Use baked tortilla chips to scoop and enjoy.
